Skyrim

Post by Varadin » 27 Feb 2011, 13:17

The next installment in The Elder Scroll series is said to be released on the 11/11/11 but there is no guarantee on that date. I am still looking forward to this game, and was wondering how many people are getting the game, or are interested in the series as a whole?

Here is the latest trailer on the game looking pretty cool. there is an assassination going on in one of the frames which looks like a pretty cool feature being brought in aswell as dual wield. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KzqS1GxdJYQ

Yeah i'll admit Oblivion wasn't the best for it's time unlike Morrowind, but hopefully they will make Skyrim well as it is apparently the last event fortold in The Elder Scrolls so it's gotta be up to standard :)

Started playing Skyrim yesterday. The game looks brilliant but I am only at the first village now. Got me a sneaking archer wood elf.
Ithilian's drunken mission on March 13th 2010: "I'm not going to sleep until Graun says night night."
Ithilian's other drunken mission on November 25th 2011: Not leaving my house until his wife calls at 7 AM and gives some strict orders.

I'm level 25 atm. The game is pretty good, but now I have ac:revelations to play as well so I'll probably be dividing my time between them a bit :P. Next week I took up vacation days, so I should have some more time.

One thing that made me wonder, but maybe it's logical in the setting as you are dragonborn, is that killing dragons isn't so hard, especially the random ones that fly around. You do considerable damage to them. Just get them down on the ground and smash their face with your shield when they start breathing fire or ice and keep hacking on them :P. I play a warrior btw, nice up close and personal.

Also got my werewolf form which is nice. Shame you can't get out of it at will though. Still, you don't have to wait until sundown at least.

From what I've heard, and read around the tool tips is that the white dragons
at least are significantly harder to kill. Also you can always turn the game
difficulty up a notch for a good challenge.

Regarding werewolfs, there is actually a Daedra quest that will net you a
ring (if completed in a certain way, ring of Hircine) that allows you to change
at will instead of the random changes.
That's pretty neat!

I got myself a sneaking wood elf too, as I really really like both the backstab
dagger play, and the bow.

Sounds interesting. You can change to a werewolf at will already though, so it would only affect getting out of it. Or does the ring not even require that you are a werewolf even?

No I don't think it does.
I don't know for sure if it matters if you picked the option to cure the curse,
but I believe that the ring will work even so.
I'll probably have a look at it this weekend so I'll post if I get some definite answers.
