The Raven Council

It's not a typical japanese RPG, it's a fighting game where you level up.

I will have to look at the Zero Punctuation review when I'm at home - don't always agree with him, but I'm always entertained by him.

Admittedly, it's not the greatest looking game in the world.

But it hates me with such a cruel passion that I can't help but want to beat it.

It's a PS3 RPG, and it's hard. Really hard. If you make one mistake it will hold you down while all it's friends have a go on your pasty white butt. But, because of that it really is satisfying when you finally get past that monster that has been eating you, pooing you out and then eating you again ...

McDonalds burger patties are what happens when you get a bunch of cow guts and eyes, feed it to a dog, shake the dog until it vomits, scrape up the chunky bits and mush it into round shapes...

And you can get styluses (styli?) for capacative screens - although they cost a little more than the usual plastic stick - I've also heard an AAA battery (or a pencil wrapped in foil) works too.

X10 is resistive, and the front-end doesn't support multi-touch.

I despise Apple and all the smarmy toss-pottery that goes with every single one of their products, so maybe I'm a little bit biased, but I've been extremely happy with my recently purchased Android phone (Xperia X10) and my iDiot friends have yet to show me an iPhone app that I haven't been able to ...

Now if only there were some universal development platform so that games would just work on any platform and be optimized not by the programmers but the platform engineers This. At least develop for the most powerful platform (PC) and then cut it down for the other versions, don't develop for the w...

But then I can't play all the in depth games - so I might as well be playing a console

Exactly, and that's why it's good. You pick up a controller, press a button and you go. You haven't even got to get up from the couch.

Console gaming has it's place - it doesn't have to be one or the other. Of course a £1500 PC is gonna run things better than a £200 console. But: it's not about the machine, it's about the games. Find me a PC that I can play these absolute beauties on: RDR, Unchartered 2, God of War 3, Guitar Hero, ...

Rockstar are particularly lazy with their ports to other platforms.

The Xbox360 version of RDR is better (runs at higher resolution) than the PS3 version despite the PS3 being the more powerful machine, purely because they Xbox360 is their preferred development platform.
